There’s a lot going on once you and your beautiful baby arrive home. Postpartum involves a lot more then one might think. You have this new baby that needs love and care, but you can’t forget about yourself. You may have had an easy birth or a difficult one but either way you still need to recover.
We have all heard that postpartum recovery may be a bit messy and that is true but it doesn’t need to be overwhelming. That is why it is important to stock up on postpartum recovery must-haves so that you have more time to enjoy your new baby and less time stressing about where to get your recovery needs.

Also, the hospital I delivered at actually gave me a bottle of this right after my delivery but you may want to include it in your hospital bag just in case.
**Please do not buy the red bottle of Dermoplast (First Aid). I couldn’t find the blue so I bought the red and luckily my husband cut his finger opened (not lucky for him) a month before I went into labor and we used it on his finger. He instantly yelled for me to never spray it down there after birth. I looked at the bottle and it has antiseptic in it. Glad we found out before the hospital!**

They are more convenient there wearing a pad and you can slip a perineal cold pack right in there for maximum relief. They are $15.98 (normally $20), 100% leak protection, discreet fit that is barely noticeable under clothes and almost no bunching. Also, you don’t have to worry about ruining a good pair of underwear and it makes for a quick and easy clean up so you can spend more time with your sweet little baby.

4. Frida Mom 2-in-1 Postpartum Absorbent Postpartum Perineal Ice Maxi Pads | Instant Cold Therapy Packs and Absorbent Maternity Pad in One Ready-to-use Padsicle for After Birth
Frida Mom 2-in-1 Postpartum Absorbent Postpartum Perineal Ice Maxi Pads are amazing and gives so much relief. You mamas need these! Price is $19.97 for 8 ice pads and you will not regret buying them! They deliver the recommended 20 minute therapy window with no freezer necessary. Pad absorbs 260g of liquid beyond the cold therapy period which is so nice because you don’t have to change your depends as much. You can just remove you ice pad and walk away without needing to change everything.
Medline also makes perineal cold packs, $29.99 for a pack of 24. The price is better than the Frida Mom but some of the ice pads do not get cold (50/50). This information is from reviews and personal experience but if you like the price and count more then click here for the link.
Love the idea of these but hate the waste factor. Check out these Reusable Perineal Cooling Pad for Postpartum & Hemorrhoid Pain Relief, Hot & Cold Packs for Women After Pregnancy and Delivery, 2 Ice Pack and 3 Cover. I personally have never used these but I know people that love them. $9.99 for 2 get packs and 3 reusable sleeves that are washable. Also, available in 5 colors. You may want to buy more than one because you will might have a lot of postpartum bleeding and these 3 pads may not be able to keep up.
Personally, the convenience of the disposable ones are nice when dealing with recovery and taking care of your baby because you may not have much time in a beginning to be doing a lot of laundry and you will not want to be without the ice pads.
